Roberta Romm
Board President
Roberta has been involved with community based projects and development since 2002. Relocating to big bend in 2019 she has brought a depth of love and initiation to the project and community. Over the last few years she led the efforts for our communities first wild fire protection plan and is dedicated to helping the community develop economic and cultural opportunities for joyful sustainable living. Helping to find creative projects, steady funding, and opportunities that serve the land and the people in a good way are of high importance.

Melisa Pool
Board Secretary
Melisa serves as Secretary of the Big Bend Community Land Trust, bringing a passion for nature, sustainability, and community resilience. She holds an Associate Degree in Natural Resources from Shasta College and is a dedicated mother, grandmother, gardener, and beekeeper. Her love for the land and commitment to future generations guide her work in preserving and nurturing the unique environment and spirit of the Big Bend area.

Terri Orwig
Board Member
Terri Orwig has lived in the Big Bend community since 1979 and has been involved in community development projects including helping to start Hill Country Community Clinic in Round Mountain. She and her husband bought 25 acres and built their dream homestead while raising their two children. Terri served on the local school’s Site Council for many years, and has been a consistent and generous community activist in many areas. She started a Recycling Center at the local school, and operated it for 15 years, donating the proceeds to the school students & the Big Bend Volunteer Fire Department.

Michelle Scaccia, CFE
Board Treasurer
Michelle joined the BBCLT Board of Directors in 2023. Originally from Florida, Michelle moved
to Montana in 2006 to experience living in a place with seasons. She moved to Big Bend in 2022, buying an off-grid property to enjoy easier access to outdoor activities, healthy living, and a higher level of self-sufficiency. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting and is a Certified Financial Examiner. Michelle works remotely for a national
consulting company performing risk-focused financial audits of insurance companies for state insurance departments. Michelle has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys many outdoor activities including kayaking, camping, fishing, whitewater rafting, skiing and riding ATVs. Michelle is committed to supporting the prudent implementation of the BBCLT’s opportunities to benefit and better the community.
